Skills to Resist Radicalisation
With support from The People's Postcode Lottery, this project will deliver violence prevention education to 3,000 young people each year. We are currently developing an interactive online resource that will build resilience to extremism and challenge all forms of discrimination. It will enable teachers to reduce the vulnerability of young people to radical and extreme messages.
Our resources take an approach that is based on the best evidence about effective prevention education and focuses on building young people’s skills and resilience. The development process involves working closely with young people to co-create scripts and activities reflecting their real-life experiences and using these ideas to produce engaging interactive activities that teachers can use to discuss challenging issues, develop critical thinking skills and practice positive communication strategies. The themes in this resource include analysing and challenging extremist propaganda and the growth of sensationalist materials online.
