Ariel is really pleased that The National Lottery have agreed to fund our face-to-face work with children for a further three years.
The grant will support us to deliver forum theatre-based drama clubs across Merseyside exploring themes related to exploitation, violence prevention and online harm. These programmes build refusal and resistance skills and allow children to develop and practice positive communications skills and parents to develop listening skills.
Each programme will build to a parental engagement workshop, where the children will share the themes they have been exploring and engage their parents in conversations about how challenging issues can be handled in positive ways. In this way, we hope to develop a community that has children’s voices at its heart, dedicated to resisting and refusing grooming.
