Ariel is committed to continuously improving the impacts delivered by our prevention education resources

Before the pandemic we had begun to explore the benefits on actively engaging parents in forum theatre performances at the end of our projects.  The response to this was really positive, but unfortunately social distancing made this work impossible for a time.

We are now prioritising developing this work, because the benefits we had begun to see are so powerful.  Parents reflecting on how they communicated with their children and being brave enough to admit they could act differently and then trying more positive strategies.  Even parents who publicly committed to working with the police to tackling gang-based grooming.

Our focus this year is working with teachers to build their confidence so that they feel able to facilitate this type of performance.  Many schools tell us that improving parental engagement is a high priority – and they see our approach as an effective and innovative way to achieve this.
