John Kelly, aged just 15, played a starring role in Ariel Trust's production for City Talk 105.9

John, who is a pupil at St George of England High School, was on the panel of experts for the discussion and soon became a firm favourite with both panellists and audience alike.

His knowledge of the issues around fire safety and his confidence on-air have been helped by his involvement in Ariel Trust's Children in Need project over the past 5 weeks.

In this project a group of 8 young people worked together to record audio and voiceovers to produce five radio features that will be aired on Paul Jacobs' Drivetime show on CityTalk 105.9. Both John and his younger sister have regularly attended the sessions and talked about their experiences of Anti-social behaviour with fire, and things they have seen happen in the area they live in.

John's ability to talk openly about his experiences and offer a young person's perspective on the issues raised led to an offer of voluntary work with Trading Standards and the opportunity to go on the City Talk Breakfast Show!
