Senseless - Limited Stock!
Making sense of racism
“It’s easier to talk about the characters in the film rather than me having to talk about my experiences of racism” Pupil, Childwall Sports College
“Senseless motivated my class to work harder than normal and their grades improved!” Jo Stephens, KS3 Co-ordinator, Childwall Sports College
How can SENSELESS be used?
Senseless can be used to support the delivery of Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) in schools and youth settings. However, it is currently being used in some English classes alongside core text such as 'To Kill A Mockingbird'.
In the pack, you will receieve:
- An interactive CD-Rom
- A scheme of work and notes for teachers
- A free copy of the 'Senseless' short film
The Senseless film was made by a local film company and was driven by local black scriptwriter Maurice Bessman, working with 24 ethnically diverse young people from Liverpool and Knowsley.
Here's what's been said so far about Senseless:
“This resource is engaging and definitely added value to the English Literature curriculum. I am confident that based on the use of Senseless that they will always remember the themes of ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ and the importance of speaking out against racism”.
Suzanne Russell – English Teacher, Childwall Sports College
The Senseless resource was commissioned by It’s Not OK! - a violence prevention education programme in Liverpool.
