Ariel Trust recently delivered its biggest independent production, an hour-long discussion programme for Liverpool’s City Talk 105.9

Recorded in front of an audience of 150 young people from across Europe, ‘EurVoice 08’ formed part of the European Youth Parliament’s session in the city.

The programme was chaired by City Talk's breakfast host Phil Easton and gave the audience a chance to question a panel of experts about issues such as employment, the environment and young people's willingness, or otherwise, to engage in politics.

On the panel where Sir Bob Scott, International Director of the Liverpool Culture Company, Gary Titley MEP, Leader of the European Parliamentary Labour Party, Jan-Philipp Beck, International Coordinator, European Youth Parliament and Ariel Trust student Laura Keating.

Laura, who is training as a multi-media journalist with Ariel, was attached to the Youth Parliament’s media centre and produced a series of reports for CityTalk 105.9’s ‘Sullivan Show’ hosted by former ‘Brookside’ actor Dean Sullivan.

Since its launch in 1982 Ariel has produced a range of material for both BBC and commercial radio and Director Paul Ainsworth says he’s proud of the Trust’s links with the industry’s major players. “We’re extremely pleased to be working with one of the UK’s few commercial talk stations. CityTalk is a bold venture and we hope this is the first of many such collaborations”.
