'Denial' boosts Year 10 grades

In September 2009, all 31 secondary schools in Liverpool received the ‘Denial’ learning resource. After a successful trial, The Belvedere Academy was one of the first schools to come forward and praise the pack.
Head of English, Jenny Jones, incorporated ‘Denial’ into the Year 10 scheme of work, and used the resource for ‘Speaking and Listening’ assessments. The result? ....grades have been raised above the predictions.

With eight times more A*s than predicted…(and 75% of the pupils getting As or above), the use of Denial has been hailed a success by teachers and students alike.
