Denial Comes Highly Recommended
05 May 2009
Andy Stelman, former Assistant Chief Officer of Merseyside Probation Service has heaped praise on Ariel’s interactive resources and is looking forward to the latest addition to the series.
Andy’s former career and his current role as Chair of Merseyside Criminal Justice Board’s Hate Crime Review, have meant that he has taken a keen interest in the educational resources developed by Ariel Trust.
“I was fortunate enough to attend a CPD session on Senseless which equipped me and the rest of the staff with all of the skills we needed to use the resource effectively. Since then we have used Senseless as part of the 'Against Human Dignity' programme, which challenges the attitudes of racially motivated offenders.”
Andy’s work takes him across the U.K. for many key conferences and strategy discussions in which he continually points people in the direction of Ariel’s resource packs, holding them up as “an invaluable resource in combating bullying and hate crime”.
As Ariel prepare to launch their latest resource ‘Denial’, which looks at bullying and homophobic bullying, Andy is confident that it will be a resounding success.
‘I am really looking forward to using ‘Denial’. Given Ariel’s track record, I am certain that this will be a top-class interactive resource suitable for use in schools, youth services, probation services and many other different areas of society where bullying and prejudice can be a problem.’
