Citytalk to broadcast Introduction to Media show live

02 June 2011

Ariel Studio Mic:

Students of our Introduction to Media course will have their work broadcast live at a top Liverpool radio station.

A group of adults completed the eight week course and their work has been compiled into one show that will be broadcast on Citytalk 105.9 FM

The show will cover a variety of topics ranging from drug abuse and homelessness, dementia, unemployment, footballer’s wages and breaking into the music and media industry.

One of the features will appear on Pete Price’s show and some of the students have gone on to carry out further media work. One has been given the opportunity to work at Radio City and another will be mentoring on the next course.

The next course will be held at the Women’s Centre in Kirkdale where they will be taught skills in radio production and will create their own show with a twist.

The Introduction to Media course is about building confidence and developing creative skills. Students will receive a Level Two OCN Radio Production qualification that they can use for future employment and opportunities.

The course will run each week on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Women’s Centre, Kirkdale from 10:00am to 1:00pm.  Watch this space for more news about the live show.
