Challenging Fire-related Anti-Social Behaviour

06 October 2008

Knowsley 2007:

In the run up to Bonfire Night 2007 young people in Knowsley were given the opportunity to learn for themselves the risks of deliberate fire setting and playing with fireworks.

In partnership with Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, Ariel worked with 150 young people in the borough.

Those who took part in the project learnt how to record broadcast quality audio and then used these new skills to interview Fire Fighters about their experiences working in the local area. The audio that the young people collected was used to produce radio adverts promoting a fire safety message. This peer advertising campaign was broadcast on local radio station KCC Live.
